Who do we consider as ‘family’? I have heard this saying;
Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter what.
I completely resonate with the above belief. What do you think? Who do you consider as family?
Dalila Sayd
I came across Dalila Sayd’s story which was very heart felt. She had the courage to be vulnerable – ‘Vulnerability’ is something I feel strongly about and may talk about in some future blog.
I love Brene Brown’s work on ‘Vulnerability’; you can find Brene’s awesome TED talk on ‘Vulnerability’ here; Brene Brown’s TED Talk on Being Vulnerable
Dalila is of Moroccan descent and shares her story of how she turned her Vulnerability; her own lack of family, as a force to communicate her mission.
Dalila talks about how, traditionally your family takes care of your funeral. But what if you’re on non-speaking terms with your family? Who’s going to take care of your funeral?

Question of the Day – “What ‘vulnerability’ are we ready to face today?”
My aim for writing this post was really to talk about how ‘Family’ is not always blood. We have and create our family on various levels whether it’s a soul connection or just other human beings who we instantly connect with and have a deep connection to. Many times these individual/s become our real families.
This post then coincidentally developed to touch on another subject close to my heart, on ‘vulnerability’ which I may talk about in some future post. 🙂
